Are You Eligible?
Your eligibility and the type of BuzzCard you are issued depends on your affiliation with Georgia Tech. The table to the right allows you to view a list of all the eligible affiliations in alphabetical order. Select a recipient type to access specific details about the affiliation, such as initial fees, required proof of affiliation, etc.
gtID#
Before you can be issued a BuzzCard, you must have an assigned gtID# (Georgia Tech Identification Number). Your gtID# is a universal number that identifies you throughout the various campus departments, while the BuzzCard is your physical identification card (and more!). The gtID# and the BuzzCard are two separate entities, but both are integral parts of your campus interactions. Students: Upon admission to the Institute, you are assigned a gtID#, and you are then eligible to receive a BuzzCard.

Faculty/Staff/Affiliates: An authorized department administrator or campus sponsor must submit a gtID# request on your behalf. A BuzzCard cannot be issued without a gtID# request.
All gtID# requests are processed by the BuzzCard Center within eight (8) business hours. Your authorized department administrator or campus sponsor will receive an e-mail confirmation once your gtID# request has been processed. It may take up to eight (8) business hours for the new gtID# to distribute through all systems, including those used by the BuzzCard Center to create a BuzzCard.
BuzzCard Center
You have to go to the BuzzCard Center to have your picture taken and your BuzzCard produced. Make certain to bring picture identification, such as a driver’s license, passport, or military ID.
