Learn all about how to obtain a Georgia Tech visitor/guest BuzzCard.
Eligibility
For people who are not permanent faculty, staff or students on Georgia Tech’s campus, we offer a Visitor/Guest card. People who need to access certain services at GT, but do not hold a traditional position that would qualify for a BuzzCard, can use the Visitor/Guest card instead.
Who may need a Visitor/Guest card (when properly sponsored):
- Visiting professors
- Visiting scholars
- Guest lecturers
- Conferees
- Temporary employees
- Vendors
- Contractors (see guidance below)
The current pricing for BuzzCards and their related services along with the accepted forms of payment for the school year is $30 for a Visitor Card. For further information, please contact Swarm Support.

To Obtain an Affiliate BuzzCard
- GTID#
- Photo ID (government issued state ID/driver’s license or passport)
- Payment (if guest is responsible for payment; credit/debit only)
- Affiliates: Processed through GT Human Resources (includes background screening). HR will be notified once the GTID is active.
- Contractors: The hiring department’s authorized GTID Requestor must submit a request to generate a GTID number.
The GTID Requestor or the person requesting the contractor service can notify the Contractor that they can visit the BuzzCard center for photo session and BuzzCard production during normal BuzzCard Center hours. The cost of the Contractor BuzzCard is $30.
The Building Manager will assign and maintain door access privileges to the Contractor BuzzCard, as appropriate. Contact us with questions about obtaining a BuzzCard for your campus guests.
